Bridging People, Place, and Policy

Founder Taldi Harrison was born in Alaska and grew up in northwest Montana, where she witnessed firsthand the economic and social transitions that many communities across the West continue to navigate today. Her hometown experienced the decline of timber and aluminum industries and the complex shift toward an outdoor recreation and tourism-based economy. That transition brought opportunity, but also disruption—changing jobs, identities, and community dynamics.

This personal experience informs Taldi’s approach to public affairs and community engagement. She understands that policy decisions, economic shifts, and land-use strategies are not abstract. As a result, her work prioritizes respect for local context, practical solutions, stakeholder voices, and strategies that honor both economic reality and community values.

Professionally, Taldi has a Master of Science and two decades of leadership at the intersection of government, philanthropy, nonprofit, and mission-driven business. She served as the inaugural Chief Program Officer at the Foundation for America’s Public Lands, built a national grassroots network for a large conservation NGO, led corporate government and community affairs at REI Co-op, and has advised public agencies, nonprofits, and coalitions across the country. Taldi also has more than 15 years of experience in non-profit board service and governance.

This combination of experience and cross-sector leadership allows Taldi to bridge policy, people, and place—helping organizations build trust, navigate change, and move forward together.
